Bento #128

bento #128
Left: Grapes & mini apricot. Right: Salami pizza

A simple bento for L after school holiday. We have some left over salami and she didn't mind having pizza for her bento. I felt bad for not making effort to present it nicer for her.... Told her that and she is such a sweet girl telling me that she understands.

Is It Yummy?

Is it tasty, my little Beanie?

Apart from putting his drumlets into his mouth, Beanie puts anything he is holding into his mouth! He played with this for a long time today while L & Z were watching TV. It was the remote control for his musical mobile.

I was trying to record it but I think he was distracted by my hp and perhaps tired of it. I was thinking of not posting this 1st video here but I can't resist it when he looked so cute.

It pays off to wait for a little while longer! He started playing with it again. He looked so serious hor?

Their New 'Pets'

Meet LZ new pets, Lili (left)& Goody(right)! I have been 'working hard' to make 'money' to buy stuffs for their pets coz there are so many things they want for them, so I am so 'broke'! Hehehe... They have fun during this school holiday playing with their new pets and other games on facebook too.

Everyday, we talk about our pets and other games too. LZdaddy has no idea what it was all about. Hmmm... Must try to convince daddy to join us.

Pic of LZ on 20th Jun

Our favourite hangout place at home is our room! If we ever move house, we definitely need a BIG bed to accommodate everyone!

Beanie @ 4 Months

My little Beanie is 4 months old today! He is the little angel in the family, make us laugh and melts everyone's heart.

We went out for a small celebration at a Japanese restaurant, without our helper and we handle our kids well. I love it when I know we can do it without any help and hopefully I can convinced LZdaddy we can live without any helper.. Anyway, I won't talk about this today.

Beanie @ 4 Months

@ 4months:
- He weighs 6.8kg
- able to flip from tummy to back
- when we put a toy in front of him, he will grab it.
- He doesn't like to be alone. As soon as he sees me turn ard and leave the room (after placing him in the cot), he will start crying.
- He smiles and kicks & waves when anyone of us calls his name
- 'bite' his knuckle till red/put thumb or 3 fingers into his mouth. If I am carrying him during these times, my clothes will be wet.
- put whatever in his hands into his mouth
- enjoys sitting on my lap, facing me or the other way round. He can sit these way for a long period
- enjoys bath time. He loves kicking and splashing water.
- enjoys looking out of the car window
- begin to drool few days ago

We call him by many names and he may be confused. Hehehe... We call him Beanie, Bean, Beanie baby, Z baby etc... we just can't make up our mind! Whatever we call him, he smiles and that's fine isn't it? And we 'fight' to see who makes him smiles the most! And I am the winner! Hahaha...

Happy 4 Months my little Beanie!

High School Musical Dance Workshop

This was the last holiday programme that I have arranged for LZ. Nothing much except that they danced throughout fot 1 1/2 hr. L looked forward to this more than Z but it was a disappointment. They said it was quite boring at times so this will be the last time that I will sign them up for this.

Father's Day Cards

I was supposed to post this last week so that LZdaddy can see it so that LZdaddy can see it when he is in the office. He didn't get to see his cards till he is back home. Poor daddy... He bought himself a Father's Day bread on Sunday when he was overseas... Hopefully next year he will be in town to celebrate with us.

To Be A Better Cook....

... LZdaddy bought these for me! Did LZdaddy bought these because I'm a very lousy cook? Maybe... Haha.. He knows I enjoys watching their cook shows and I didn't want to spend money buying the books for myself (rather spend on my kids). AND he felt guilty that he didn't buy me anything for his recent trips. He asked me what I want and I told him nothing that I need.

He bought these from overseas and I think it was much cheaper. Thank you my love! I received my very early presents for my birthday!

LZdaddy has been away for 10 days and is finally back home today... We missed him very very much... At least he gets to spend the next few days with the kids before school reopens.

ZJ & L

This pic was taken after L came back from her ice cream treat. She missed her baby brother though she only went out for a short while with Michelle.

LZ @ Ice-Skating

Michelle and I arranged for our kids to go ice skating today! I didn't tell my babies till we were about to go. They were excited when they found out and they talked non-stop with Rachel & Charmaine. It was cold but not to the extend that we need jackets. We mommies wore only t-shirts. As they were putting on their skates, both were giggling all the way. I was so happy to see them like this! I should have taken pics of them at that time.

I was a little worried for Z coz it was his very first time putting on a pair of skates (any kind) and he has injured his both arm before. If I have told LZdaddy earlier, I think he would stop me. But I know my boy wanted to try and I told myself must be extra careful with him.

Michelle and I hold to to Z for the 1st round and subsequently, he was much better though he still need to hold on to the bar. Z was good! He listened to my advice. I told him whenever he thinks that he is going to fall, he should lean forward and slow down. You can see it in the video right below. That's why the number of times he fell was less than L.

Here's another video of Z. Sweet Rachel once a while skate by to check if Z was ok. I was able to record him more but not my princess coz she was skating too fast for me to do that.

I was so worried when I see the way L skate, aiyo.... she was so reckless! I admired her courage, she 's not afraid at all but not the way she skate. Many times I was in cold sweat when I see her fall. At times she didn't want to use the bar but I advise her to use it coz it hurt to see her fall so many times. In the video (below), you can see how she fell and towards the end of the video you will see Z fell too. I love her cheerfulness! Fell down so many times yet so HAPPY!

I was so glad I have a helper! without a helper there to look after ZJ, I won't be able to skate with my 2 older babies. ZJ slept most of the times and my helper didn't have to carry him often. I think he was enjoying the coolness, just like us.

After skating, we went for lunch at the foodcourt. Rachel & Charmaine came over to our house for a short while before Michelle brought the girls out for ice cream treats. What a wonderful day we had!

Holiday Workshop - Fantasy Science Journey

I wanted to enrol LZ for more Science Workshops or cooking classes but I was too late, most of the classes were full or they have attended before. I was glad there was vacancies for this 3 hr workshop and of coz I asked LZ if they want to join in.

Through the journey across 4 'islands', they did experiments (which is their favourites), learned about water pressure etc...

Giant Land
One of the experiment they did:
Using water bottle as submarine, they learned that 'submarine' sinks when water enters and increases air pressure.

Elves Land
One of the experiments they did:
They placed some cut papers on the table, rub the balloons and when thye put it near the table, the cut papers stick to the balloons - static electricity.

Witches Land
One of the experiments they did:
They mixed baking soda and vineger and that caused the solution to turn fizzy (the witches' Brew).

They also learned the Pig Pen Code. I think they may write secret letters to each other using that! Hehehe...

Dragon Land
They were given a small parachute toy, through that, they learned about air resistance. The staffs also set up a Giant Web (to rescue the dragon who was stuck in there) and they kids had fun going into it.

LZ had a good time in the workshop. They were 'fighting' to tell me what experiments they did and L telling me that at times she needed to help Z with the experiments. When I read through the programme, I didn't think it was that interesting. I'm so happy they enjoyed it! Sometimes, no choice is a good choice.

LZ @ The Beach

After craft time, we rested for a while before heading to the beach for a picnic. We haven't done this for a looong time.... We had a wonderful time! If only LZdaddy was there... It will be few more days before we get to see him...

I love the pic I took of L & Z! My favourites are the B&W ones. They have grown so much!

 Photobucket

ZJ was a little grouchy when we were on our way there but he was back to his cheery mood when he felt the sea breeze. It was such a nice weather! He soon fell asleep....

While he was sleeping, we had our dinner by the beach. LZ played a little while more after that before we head back home.

Craft Time

L with her mermaid & Z with his cow 'piggy' bank

Art & Craft was one of the things that LZ wanted to do during this school holiday. They have been drawing alot but that is not enough for them, they want craft works. Glad that I have these boxes of crafts for them, then I don't have to search through internet for ideas.

Sibling Bonding Time

LZ took the initiative to read to ZJ while I have my break. They read for a long time till ZJ couldn't lift his head anymore. Hehehe...

Cute

*Z took the pic for me*
I was driving when Z asked me to see what happened (of coz I waited till we were at red traffic light). Jiejie was soo tired that it didn't bother her that Beanie put his leg on her or kicked her.

Holiday Workshop Day 5 - Water Rolling Balls

For the last day of the camp, LZ went to Uncle Ringo Carnival. They loved the games that they played there! Bouncy castle, Merry-Go-Round and a Tutu train and the highlight for them was the Big Ball. Z said he went upside down and he kept running inside and falling down. L said when the uncle was trying to pull them back, she struggled to move it away with another girl, Nicole. My naughty girl, she said she did that coz she wanted to play more!

L was very happy coz she had friends with her for the past 5 days and even without any friends, I know she will enjoys it. She takes the initiative to talk to others and makes friends easily. Initially I was not sure if Z would enjoyed as much as L coz he doesn't have any friends in the class but my boy has grown up. He enjoyed the lesson and was able to tell me what he did and enjoyed.

Some of the crafts that they brought home from the camp

We have read the story on 西游记 before and now I''m sure we can have more fun acting out the story with their crafts. They used their crafts and did a 'show' for ZJ and I to watch. Here's a very short video of Z, saying he is 孙悟空 and I am 猪八戒. Hey I am not him ok!

ZJ With Aunt & Family

So sweet of my Aunt and cousins to come over to visit us today!

Holiday Workshop Day 4 - Longkang Fishing

I think today is one of the camp days that they look forward to! They went to Qianhu for longkang fishing! L claimed that she caught 30+ fishes and Z only caught about 3 or 4 . She told me she gave some to Z but in the end, they were asked to released all the fishes and she was disappointed.

At the end of the day, they each brought home a small tank and some fishes. By bedtime, 2 of the fishes died and I don't think they will survived long....

Holiday Workshop Day 3 - National Museum

Sad to say thatI have never bring my kids to any museum (not that I recall).... They usually follows the school field trip. After the field trip today, both commented "mommy, you know you never bring us to the museum before." Oops! Another 'wake up call' for me! So if any of my dear friends read this, please do ask us along if you are going. I drive but I am lousy in knowing how to go around. I have never to been to any museum in Singapore (not that I remember). Funny thing is that when I used to travel so often, I went around to look for museums.

I think LZ enjoyed themselves at the National Museum, otherwise they would not have asked me to bring them there again. L did a puppet and watch a movie on 西游记 . Z did a craft, paper 红头巾, watch a movie too and now knows more about 红头巾.

Holiday Workshop Day 2 - Fun With Dim Sum

In the morning, both did some work and sang songs in their own classes. L told me their class was rehearsing for a mini performance for all students. She was chosen by teacher to be the narrator and she was very proud of it. I think she must be very talkative in class that's why teacher chose her. She looks forward to the performance but too bad I don't get to see it.

Photobucket

After having their Nonya bento lunches ordered by the center, they headed off to Prosper Kitchen to learn now to make Tim Sum. They were each given a box of egg tarts and char siew soh to bring home. LZ has a small bite of the tim sum and told me I must finish the rest! Coz they said they made it for me! So touched.... But that's alot to finish! What to do... LZdaddy not in town to share it and I have to finish everything so as not to disappoint my Babies.

So cute right? They were even given a chef hat to bring home.

Brother See, Brother Do

ZJ: Haiz... I'm soooo BORED! What can I do?

ZJ: Ha! I know.. Let me 'eat' my drumlet! Hmmmm... So yummy!

Z: Really? Let me try..... You are soooo RIGHT Bro!
ZJ: See, I don't bluff you!

Holiday Workshop Day 1 - Health Zone

LZdaddy left this morning and he will not be back till 10 days later so I signed LZ up for a 5 days holiday programme. It is a Chinese Language Building Workshop with fun outings. Better keep them busy otherwise they will turn the house upsidedown. Hehehe.....

I signed them for this programme with Rachel, Charmaine & Janice. I hope the girls will be able to maintain this wonderful friendships, they have known each other since nursery days.

As for Z, he didn't have any friends with him but I was told that he will be able to join jiejie at times. I know my boy will be able to cope well even on his own now that he is older.

L with Rachel & Charmaine

For Day 1, they went to the Health Zone, for more info on what they did there can be found HERE.
L's group pic. She is in the front row, 3rd from left. Aiyo... See how my girl stand, must be different from others.

Z's group pic. He is in the front row, 1st from the right.

Fun @Zoo

We have not been to the zoo for a looooong time, ever since our membership expired. I feel so bad... They used to go zoo and bird park very often but not anymore.

L's character education teacher asked who has been to the newly renovated zoo during lesson, all of them raised up their hands except 3 students, including my girl. She was so sad.... She didn't tell me till few days ago.

It was a 'wake up call' for us. We have not been to many places since my pregnancy and LZdaddy has been busy with work and business trips. We can't take these as an excuse..... No matter how busy we are or lazy, we must make effort to bring them to places like these.

LZdaddy was the one who suggested going to the zoo today (I mentioned it to LZdaddy what L told me). LZ were excited since last night! They were jumping with joy! That showed how much they missed the zoo.

We did the right thing! LZ had so much fun! We arrived at the zoo at 10+am. It rained for a while after we arrived there for half hour but that didn't dampen their spirits! They already told us what they would like to see before we arrived. Then when we were about to leave at 5+pm, it started raining again. We were giggling while running towards the exits and we slowed down when we see animals! I was carrying Beanie, with a blanky covering his head and Z was running next to me. L was running with daddy. So fun!

It was Beanie's 1st trip to the zoo and I'm sure he didn't know where he was at. he must be thinking that mommy 'tortured' him by bringing him to such a HOT place. Hehehe... Beanie slept half the time and I was glad that we bought a little fan to keep him cool.

When we were at the Children World, he pooped so much that he stained his clothes! Love to see his poop! Weird mommy right? The yellow mustard poop! Every time I look at it, I'm so happy! Coz it means he has been drinking my milk and it should be this colour. Hehehe...

Oh! I want to ask you readers something. There's a nursing/diaper changing room in the Children World and I was wondering if man are allowed to go in. I was breastfeeding Beanie when this man came in with the wife to change diaper for their kid and to stay cool in there (there's aircon in the room). I was uncomfortable and hoping they will leave soon. I had to draw to curtain but as soon as I close the curtain, I felt so hot! I was perspiring and feeding him! I know the curtain is meant for privacy but it was so hot feeding there with the curtain drawn. I can't feel the aircon at all. And of coz if this man is alone with the child, then he had no choice but he was there for the aircon!

Z gone wild in the Children World! He was running everywhere and we had a hard time trying to catch up with him. LZdaddy worried most, he worried that Z would hurt his arm again. It was tough just trying to get a pic of him.

L gone wild too! At least it was easier to get her to come to me. The only complaint that I got from her was why I never prepare swimsuit for them. I told helper to prepare towels and extra clothes except the swimsuits.

*Pic taken 12th Jun 2009* See how happy he was!

When ZJ doesn't like to be in the room alone, I put him on his rocking chair. Lately he prefers the seat to be in semi reclined position, he either watch TV with LZ or play with them and knows what's going on around him.

Fun @ The Mall - #2

We were told that every week the games would be different so this week we head down to the mall again. But the games were almost the same.. I was disappointed but not my kids.

Easy Mini Chocolate Treat

I promised Z that I will do this with them during the school holiday. Recipe is from his school. It is easy to do and yummy!

Ingredients:
- Cornflakes
- Raisins
- Chocolates

Mix cornflakes & raisins and place a spoonful into the mini paper cupcake holder.
Pour melted chocolates over it and leave in fridge.

I melt the chocolates for them and they did the rest. LZ missed those baking sessions that we used to do and I missed it too. I hope to be able to bake more often with them once ZJ is older.

It's Growing!

I bought the vegetable seeds (comes with the containers) in L's school last year. I forgot about it till L reminded me that I promised them that we will plant it the next school holiday. The wheatgrass seeds were given the last time Z went to the vegetable farm (school field trip).

Spa Treatment for ZJ ?!

After 9 years, it is time for our aircon to 'retired'... It retired at the wrong timing! The weather has been so HOT! Our house will be in a big mess if we want to repair it. Today, the aircon men came to our house to fix up the new ones. We have been without aircon for the past weeks (or months?) . We were happy with getting the new aircon, which means better sleep in the night but the downside is that we have to out of the house for the whole day!

It was very sweet of my best pal to invite us to her house for the day. Needless to say, LZ looked forward to it! They missed their godsister... I shouldn't have told them the night before, they were too excited to sleep. I looked forward to it too coz Doreen and I can chat the whole day and ZJ tried out the 'spa' for the very 1st time!

In the pics: Chyene & ZJ on the mat, ZJ in the water, LZ with their godsister, ZJ & Chyene in the water. I love the last pic of our little ones in the water. You can see they really enjoyed it!

ZJ was very tensed initially when we placed him in the water, he holds tightly to the side handles but very soon he enjoyed it. He kicked, smiled and cooed while in it. I think it was because the water was warm and William & Doreen gave him some spa treatment. They talked to him and massaged for him while I was busy recording and taking pics.

I thought after the 'spa treatment', ZJ would be able to nap but I was wrong! He nap for a little while and latched on to me most of the time (to sleep). The moment I placed him down, he cried. I think maybe he is not used to sleeping in other places.

LZ were busied playing with Chyene, Z went into the 'pool' for awhile (L can't coz I don't allow her to go naked in it), playing with their pets and restaurants (in Facebook, which I will blog abt it soon), chatting with godma about the games and watch Anime with godpa.

We had a wonderful time with my best friends. Thank you my dear friends, we hope you guys had a wonderful time too and hopefully the next time, ZJ will want to nap in your house.

My 3 babies are already sounds asleep and I am so comfortable in my room. Yeah! We finally have aircon!

Holiday Creative Writing Workshop - L

I signed up L for the school holiday workshop for the week. It is a continuation of what she did for the March holiday. I am grateful to my friend, Pauline for sending & fetching my girl for the 5 days. She has been sending L home everyday after school and she offered to even help me during this school holiday.

This time, she was taught how to describe a character & setting, plotting of the story and dialogue. She was taught Braille (The Braille system is a method that is widely used by blind people to read and write) too!

She likes the story of this little girl, Helen Keller who was blind and deaf. This lady, Annie Sullivan who taught Helen how to read with her fingers, how to write and how to speak. In the end, this little girl grew up to be a great woman and devoted her to life to help others. She brought courage and hope go these people. I like it too and I think she inspired L to work harder.

Fun @ The Mall - #1

Brought my babies to the mall for some Disney fun, it has a few play stations. I think L was a little too 'old' for the stations but who cares? So long she had fun with her brother.

Yes, I was alone again with my 3 babies. ZJ was sleeping most of the time when we were shopping and he woke when LZ just started playing the games. The pics didn't turn out that well coz I was carrying him while trying to take the pics.

Video of ZJ

Managed to record ZJ playing with his toy in the car while LZdaddy driving. He was trying to grab the toy. This toy has been keeping him entertained whenever I drive. And I just bought another one and will change it once he gets tired of this.
