Simul With U17 ASEAN Chess Champion

Z was invited by Philip to join the Simul session with the U17 ASEAN champion.  He doesn't get to play with players of such high level so he was really excited about it!
There were total 17 players playing against the Champion, Liu Xiangyi.  He is only 11+ and is already a champion in ASEAN! And he's so tall!
It was an rare sight for us, looking at the champion playing against 17 players at one go.
Z was the last boy to survive for the game!  Coach was very happy with his performance even though he lost the game.  Liu Xiangyi praised him too!  I was glad that he didn't rush through the game, this has been his weakness.
After the simul, he showed the kids how from a losing game, he managed to turn the game around.  It was one of the rounds at the ASEAN Championship.
Before end of the session, we had a group photo taken.
It was truly a great experience for Z!  Thank you Philip!  The champion has inspired him to be a better player! Well done boy!

Bento #312 - Kodomo

In the box:  Homemade fried wantons, stir fry chicken with capsicum, melon balls and mayo in container.

We had wanton for lunch and dinner today.  For dinner, Z to help me in the kitchen.  Actually both my boys were supposed to help me this evening but Beanie fell asleep.  L was busied with her school work.
He volunteered to help me wrapped the wantons.  His first time doing it and he had fun!  My boys usually are the ones that are very eager to help me in the kitchen.  As for my girl, she would be the first if I need someone to help me finish the food!  Haha..  I know she wants to help but at P5, she has lots of work everyday from school.

LZ @ Zoo

A visit to the zoo with my kiddos today!
Z was the only one interested in feeding animal today..
Waterplay!  My boys looked forward to this!
L was shy and wasn't keen to play.  She was busied eating and whatapping with her friends.  Had a great chat with her. ♥
 More fun at the playground.
I had fun too!  Bonding with my little ones and taking pics with my camera.  Here are some of it.  Spot something?

More pics of my kiddos!  Beanie was in the mood to take lots of it!

National Day Celebration & L's First Outing

LZ celebrated National Day in school.  L also performed with the choir today..

Here's their OOTD!
Today is also the FIRST time my girl went out with her friends, without any adults.  They celebrated Kevin's birthday.  I wasn't very keen to let her go as I knew once I agreed, there will be more to come.  I admit I was selfish, I didn't want her to grow up too fast..
I gave in coz partly because I knew who they were and Kevin has been her classmate since P1.  They are a bunch of nice kids... But I didn't let her out of my sight for too long.  I 'coincidentally' bumped into them twice with my 2 boys.  Hehe... I just want to make sure they are doing ok and not making a scene at the mall.  Typical mother, isn't it?

Bento #311 - Chicken Rice

In the box: Chicken rice, bean sprouts, apple & soup

My kiddos can't get enough of the chicken rice and asked for it again.

Today the school has some invited guests from China and Z were one of the students to perform for them with the CO and thereafter they also interact with them.  One of the boys gave Z this keychain. That's so nice of him.

Brothers - Pic

Pretending the water bottles are guns..  Simple fun yet they love it..

Will He Be Proud Of Me?

I am a Hainanese, I've seen my Papa cooked chicken rice many times but I have never tried cooking it myself.  I took for granted my dad will cook it whenever I want to eat.

Before he was very ill, I just have to give him a call when my kiddos & I think of his chicken rice and the next day, he delivered it to us.  He's so sweet....  We are so spoilt by him.  I miss him dearly...  His cooking too.  His mutton soup & chicken rice are the BEST!

He often said I should learn this coz I'm a Hainanese but I laughed and said "No need!  You cook for me when I want to eat it."  Sigh... After so many years, my mom knows how to cook this dish too but somehow, it is just different from my dad's.  I dare not ask my mom to cook this for us nowadays, knowing how emotional she is.

I cooked chicken rice today...  As I was cooking it, I teared.... I wonder if he will be proud that I am learning how to cook this dish?

Bento #310 - Ladybird

In the boxes: Cold soba, homemade fried chicken balls, golden kiwis, edamame & seaweed salad.

Kiddos requested for cold soba and find it too 'boring' so added ladybirds on it.  I also tried making the food picks with the tapes. Not too bad looking, I think. :p
