Benot #303 ( 2 sets) Lunch - Panda

In the boxes: sweet peas fried with baby corn, homemade chicken balls, homemade prawn tempura & blueberries.  Small containers: mayo.

I was afraid not enough rice for kiddos that I put too much rice to mold the pandas' head.  End up the eyes, mouth & nose looked small...

For sure they liked today's bento coz the boxes came back empty!  Yay!  So it doesn't matter if the features looked small at all!

DIY Craft: Animal Kingdom

Little one pestered jiejie to make something for him and here's what L came up with, using those boxes that I was about to throw away.   A little tiered animal Kingdom (that's what they called it)!  L never failed to amaze me with her creativity!

See that little fly?  Well, it was Beanie's little pet...  They even gave it a leash!

My Little Firefighter is 3!

Beanie's 3rd birthday wish -  A visit to the Fire Station!

It is definitely the best birthday gift for Beanie!  So often we read book about fire engines, the ladder, hydrants etc...  Nothing beats experiencing the REAL stuffs!  My kiddos can't stopped talking about it! Haha...

When they found out it was Beanie's birthday today, they were so sweet to go the extra mile to make it more memorable for him!  I said that coz not sure does everyone get to do these on open house day?!  They sang birthday song for him and gave my kids lots of goodies, including fireman raincoats and 3 fireman helmets!

A BIG THANK YOU to all the officers for making Beanie's birthday so special!  Thank you all for spending time to explain to my babies and making it a wonderful experience for them!  You guys were awesome! You didn't mind us staying beyond the open house timing and let them have more than enough time to explore around!   I have to tell you what my kiddos said "you guys rocks!"

For that few hours, we were able to experience so many FIRSTs!  This was not L & Z first experience at a fire station but they told me they did not explore as many things as this time.   Of all the fire-fighting vehicles, they enjoyed the Combined Platform Ladder the most!  They had the opportunity to see how it was set up, rode on it and went up a few metres high!

His next birthday wish - A 'fire cake' (fire engine cake)
I wonder where he learned that from, telling me his birthday wishes...  He has all his wishes fulfilled this time and I can't imagine what his next birthday will be like.  Hope he doesn't ask for things to have/to do that is too tough to fulfill...
It was a very BIG birthday cake!  He was so excited when he saw his fire engine cake!
In the evening we went for buffet at Changi Village Hotel.   Birthday boy dozed off on the way there and woke up later to have his meal.

@ 36 Months

Love chatting with my little one, or rather, teasing him.  His reply is often so cute!  Especially when he sounds very serious when he replies me.
Recently (1st Feb):
Me: I'm so hungry!  Can I eat you?
B: Mommy, Beanie not lunch! *serious face*  My head too big to go into your mouth!  You eat me then I can't get home! *showing me a sad face*

Now that he goes to school, he has more things to tell me.  Sometimes, the teacher tells me what they did and I will ask him.  He has started learning alphabets & numbers.   The other day they did a scavenger hunt  and he was so happy that he found the number '1'.    I'm not in the hurry to teach him more actually...  I hope to teach him at his own pace and he feels like it.  Looking at how much time his siblings spent on their work,  I hope to let him enjoy as much as he can now.

Besides fireman, Beanie likes policeman too.  He gets excited when he sees one.  Once (14 feb), after parking my car, we saw the police car patrolling our estate.  He hurriedly got off the car so that he can waved to them.  He also likes to explain to us what does a policeman or fireman do.  "Policeman catch the bad guy.  Fireman save the fire."

(15 feb) -  Beanie gave us a shock today....  He said there's a baby in my tummy!

(21 feb) - little one sweet talk to me very often.  This is one of those moments that I want to record what he said, "love mommy mouth, love mommy face, love mommy nose, love mommy 2 eyes, love mommy hands, love mommy feet...." Feel so loved...

For his milk feeding, he has make better progress now.  I managed to wean him off for afternoon feed and sometimes night feed as well.   I give him fresh milk instead.   But during night time, I have to hide in the toilet so that daddy can put him to bed.   Otherwise, he will give me his most pitiful look and I will give in.  At times, he says "please" so many times that I give in too.

♥ Happy Birthday my little Beanie....  Stay cheerful as always and be happy!   We love you very much! ♥

Birthday Celebration @ School - Junior Fireman

Last night, the little one packed goodie bags with the help of his siblings.
Beanie's first wish - To be a fireman!  We hunt around for the suit and was so happy to find one that fits him so well!  From the photos, you could tell how happy he was!  He can't wait to show his friends in school.
He was very shy....  But the lighted candles helped to put a smile on his face.  We didn't have to tell him what to do, he has been looking forward to blowing out the candles and cutting the cake.
He wasn't comfortable when his classmates crowd around him...  Well, he is not used to having so many people singing birthday song for him!  Honestly, we didn't have the intention to celebrate his birthday in school till the teacher asked.  I asked him if he wants to and he said yes, of coz it came with other requests (like what he wants to do for his birthday)!
His Second Wish -  To sit on the "rhino"!

Whenever I drive to LZ's school, we will pass by this small fire station post.  He's very happy if he sees the "rhino" at the usual spot.  I promised him we will go there on his birthday and see if we can take a few shots of him with his favourite vehicle.

The staffs was very nice when daddy explained to them and we were allowed to take pics!   Little one was extremely excited!  But was so shy when he saw one of the guys was there.  Nevertheless, we managed to captured a few shots of him with it!

His third birthday wish?  Hopefully we can fulfill it tomorrow!  We are so looking forward to it!

Bento #302 (2 sets) - Lunch

In the boxes:  Cold soba, yakitori, quail eggs, strawberries & cherries.

My kiddos missed having soba and requested that for their bento today.   I wonder when will they get tired of it...  They probably won't.  They can have it every other day or everyday!

Bento #301 (2 sets) - Kiiroitori

Fried rice, fried tofu, sliced orange & strawberry.  Small containers:  fish floss.

Using egg sheets, I wrapped the fried rice inside.   This is one of the characters that my girl and I liked and I liked what I prepared for them today.   Z has no idea what this is but he thinks it's cute too.

Invitational Primary Schools Chess Championship 2012

LZ was excited about this event, more so for L coz it's her FIRST time representing school.   I know the chances of them winning for the school is not high coz LZ are still new.  Nevertheless, as usual, I encouraged them to do their best.
Briefing before the start of the event
 1st round, L getting a little nervous.
1st round,  Z can't wait for it to start...
Finally she broke the 'egg' (0 point) after losing 2 rounds and she won a rated player!
His opponent happened to be one of his chess club friends.
Played against her buddy, Rachel, in round 4.
Z was very eager to play this round (6th rd).  Facing his opponent, who is his chess buddy.
Lastly, a pic of the siblings representing school together for the first time.

There were 165 students from 50 primary schools (including 9 international schools) & 9 kindergartens that took part.  L was in the U11 category and Z in the U9 category.

Looking at all the regular players from the primary schools, I knew it wasn't going to be easy for my kids.  But I'm so proud of my kids!   They did pretty well for this competition!  They did not win anything but what matter most (again) they enjoyed it.   The feeling is different this time coz they were so proud to represent school!  It is a very special event to me as well coz I helped recording the scores for the U11 team and presented prizes to the winning teams as well!  Wow!  Lots of FIRSTs for us today!  Haha....

I am very happy for my kiddos!  They both beat rated players today!  They didn't start well, losing first 2 rounds, but they won some of the rounds after that. Well done my babies!
