Bento #241 (2 sets) - Lunch

In the boxes: Japanese chicken curry, water-apples & mixed white & brown rice

Prepared their all time favourite, Japanese curry. Instead of the usual diced potato & carrot, I used Mickey cutter. I would love to make a Mickey face with the rice but I'm no expert in doing it so they just have to make do with a bear.

Bento #240 - Z's Lunch

In the box: Japanese stir fry noodle with pork, carrot & leek, apricot & raspberries

Z, unlike his sister, likes asian food, especially Japanese. Usually he ask for sushi, rice or noodle. He liked what I prepared for him today. Not only him, we all love this noodle dish.

In the boxes: Bacon, scrambled eggs, grapes, longan & cookies.

Z wanted to have scrambled eggs for his bento so I prepared these for them.  He loves to eat eggs, every other day he would ask me to cook it for him. His little brother is just like him, both will finish off their eggs very fast.

Bento #183 (2 sets) - 2nd Recess Bento

In the boxes: hotdog buns with Japanese ham, grapes and pretzels.

Simple bento for their 2nd recess. First time see Japanese ham in NTUC (or maybe it has been there all along and I never noticed) and asked my LZ if they want to try it.  Since they are willing to try new food, I bought it.

It looked like lots of food ya, for their 2nd recess?  They finished everything!  probably both sets of bento contains their favourite food (Ham & cold noodles).

LZ @ Bentendo Pasta & Cafe

We have passed by this cafe many times and I have always wanted try out the food, but we never did...  I'm glad we had our dinner there tonight, the food and service was fantastic!

The pic on the left 2nd row is my main course, pasta soup. When I told LZdaddy I wanted to order that, he commented that it is weird to have pasta soup.  He took back what he said coz it was yummylicious!  My babies tried it and they like it! Even little Beanie asked for more!  Haha... The rest of the main courses that we ordered were yummy too!

We will definitely go there again as Great World City is one of the mall that we like.

In the box: Mini pear & grapes, pumpkin rice balls & a packet of cookies.

Boring bento with same fruits again.. What to do... L simply loves the mini pear and she complained I gave her only one!

For now, LZ love the pumpkin rice, it consist of rice, pumpkin, sliced pork & mushroom. I was so happy when Z had a 2nd helping the other day when I cooked this! They said mommy cooked this very well and even LZdaddy said that too. Hehehe... I just learned how to cook this from the Chinese programme. I have always been looking out for dishes to cook pumpkin and I'm glad I found this recipe.

In the Box: Baked chicken drumstick, edamame, flower shaped carrots, quail eggs with crabsticks, onigiri with seaweeds.

Just received the Mickey & friends seaweeds from Teni. Thank you so much Teni! My kids love it and they can't wait for me to use it for their bento! It is so sweet of you to buy that for us from Japan. First reaction from L when she saw the bento was "Mommy! You finally use the seaweed for my bento!". I will have to make a bento with the seaweed for Z too before he knows.

We had the baked chicken drumsticks for lunch yesterday and LZ wanted more of that! Unfortunately, I have only 1 left so I used it for L's bento. Z wants me to get more drumsticks from the market today but I told him mommy not cooking on weekends. Seems like I have to get more for next week. Fresh chicken taste so much better than those I bought from Cold Storage and LZ know that too.

Slurping It

After seeing jiejie slurping down down the soft boiled egg, Z decided to give it a try too. Yes! Finally we got him to try it out and he likes it! Now we will have a new item on his breakfast menu.

A simple bento today. Char siew bau is L's all time favourite and she was happy that I packed it for her. My girl is so easy to please, knowing mommy has been lazy...

My princess definitely knows how to enjoy life and fully 'make use' of mommy before I am unable to prepare bento for her. Hahaha... She placed order for pretzel, a snack that both siblings love and mixed fruits. I am not capable to make pretzel so I bought the frozen ones for them. So now, they have another choice for their breakfast too.

I remembered someone asked what to do I with the leftover (after cutting out the shapes I want). Well, I eat it while I cut. Haha! I have my 'breakfast' while cutting the food. Sometimes, I save it for later so I can munch on it or poor daddy will have to finish it for them.

Bento #84

Top: Diced dragonfruits and grapes on sticks`. Bottom: Pizzas with salami, sliced fresh button mushroom and diced capsicum.

Something that my girl requested. Instead of the usual sausage or ham for her pizza, I suggested salami and she loves it. She said it taste better than the others. I think from now on, if we order pizza, my girl will look out for salami toppings.

Just a note that Z said he loves his salami pizza too.

Bento #74

I can't believe my girl asked for ravioli again for lunch and she had a HUGE portion of it! Makes my life easier when she asked for the same thing for lunch. I gave her extra cheese powder and she finished the whole bottle of it. The golden kiwi is very sweet and if you like it, go grab it from cold storage.

Z and I had that too and I added chilli padi for my pasta. Simply love it when my pasta is spicy! Hehehe.. Whenever I ran out of idea what to cook, I just have to cook pasta and they will be happy. So I always have frozen minced beef in my freezer.

From left: Honey apricot, HK chocolate lollipop, HK shaped egg, and HK shaped jam sandwiches.

I find today's bento so boring that I thought of not posting it but then this is for the record of what my girl has been eating during recess. What most 'exciting' for her was there were a chocolate HK shaped lollipop and the honey apricot. She loves the honey apricot and it is so sweet! So honey apricot is her favourite fruit for now.

Bento #61

Top tier: Cookies, Japanese grapes. Bottom tier: Char siew pau (pork buns), steamed corn, cherry tomato and cucumber on stick.

An easy bento, I steamed the pau and corn together. Noticed I have lettuce in most of L's bento? She loves all types of letttuce! She reminds every now and then must put lettuce in it. I am happy to do so coz bento looks nicer too!

From left: coktail sausages, eggs with asparagas, irani zushi (tofu pouches with rice), longan & grapes.

Irani zushi is L's favourite food for now. When we go to a Japanese restaurant, I don't see her ordering this but it is different when at home, I prepare and she eats. She said she likes the sweetness of the tofu pouches.

PS: Blessed mum, you can buy the brand that I bought the other day. It taste the same as what I bought the last time.
