Sunshine & Cloudy

Let me introduce our Newest Family members in LZfamily - Sunshine (L's pet, female) & Cloudy (Z's pet, male)! They are LZ's latest pets, hamsters! They named the pets themselves.

We have been thinking of what presents to get for LZ. In the end, I thought it would be a better idea to ask them what they would like. L wants to have a hamster and Z just wants a book and more Thomas & Friends trains. I told Z that jiejie is getting a hamster for her birthday and he decided that he wants that instead. I thought it would take me some time to persuade LZdaddy to let LZ have hamsters for their birthdays but he said yes without hesitation! I think he sees that LZ have been taking good care of Terro (their pet terrapin) for the past 2 years.

We went to Serangoon with godparents to visit a few pet shops and finally found one that has more selections on Syrian breed AND that doesn't push us to buy it. Thanks to godparents, otherwise clueless LZparents wouldn't know where to buy their hamsters. The only thing I know is what breed I am planning to buy for them, we were looking at Syrian (my first choice coz LZ had tried handling it), Roborovski and Winter white.

LZ had fun choosing their hamsters and the cage. Z insisted on having the one with only one color. L and I actually like the one which is black & one but I convinced her to take another one coz that one was way too active and I was afraid how she's going to handle it.

The cage is ready and LZ ready to transfer the hamsters. The hamsters were in the little bag in front of L.

After choosing their hamsters, we went over to another shop to get the cage and food. I like the service of this shop. The lady, Yvonne did not 'push' us to buy the hamster from her and she gave us plenty of advice on how to take care of the hamsters. From her, I found out the hamsters we bought are FIERCE! OOPS! She told us those with red eyes are fierce type of hamsters! Well, I do hope she is wrong....

They both wanted to have a cage each for their hamsters but I said no. So mean hor? They wanted that for their birthdays and I said no. Honestly, I am not sure how long their hamsters will survive under their care and didn't want to waste too much money. Knowing L, she will takes good care of Sunshine's cage and Z may not do a good job. So if I place both under one cage, L will definitely takes good care of both. When Beanie is born, I will definitely not have any time to help them at all.

The Secret of Party Science - Holiday Workshop

LZ went for a 3 hours holiday workshop while I can take a break. Personally, I like to sign them up for science workshop. It is a good introduction to them, let them learn more about science and most important, they had fun.

They chose to go for this, so obvious why isn't it? This programme is for children between the age of 5 - 10 yrs old.

"Lollipops Young Scientist - The Secret Of Party Science"

That's the secret! Learn about the science behind party tricks! Let your child create their own party tricks that they will obviously fall in love with. Let them experience the making of their first Fizz Bomb, Phuny foam etc.. ..."

They learned chemicals like sodium bicarbonate, carbon dioxide etc and make their own Fizz Bomb. They also learn what caused the bubbles and how does the party popper works - friction. They also each did a Party Panpipe - length of the pipe determines the sound, vibration etc.

I would have signed them up for more holiday workshops if Z did not get chicken pox last month and worried that L would get it too (hibernation period for chicken pox is abt 2 weeks). When I planned to signed them for one of the 3 days workshop it is fully booked! Haiz.... And that was the one that Z really wanted to go..

Beanie A Cartoon Character?

LZ have been coming up with names for Beanie. Funny names I mean... L came up with the name Troy, from High School Musical and Z, came up with Ben from Ben 10!

Whatever characters they like or are watching at that time, they decide to name their brother after it. They like the cartoon character so much they think their brother is a cartoon too. "Mommy, how about Troy? He will look as handsome as Troy!" "Mommy, how about Ben? He will be as powerful as Ben10!" What other names they thought of? Tom & Jerry, Thomas & friends' names, and many other weird names! I told them their brother is not a cartoon character and they laughed. They are 'fighting' to name Beanie.

Actually, we have thought of a name for Beanie. Ever since I told them, Z has been calling him that. I told him it is not confirm yet but he said he likes it. We'll see...

Finally Something for Beanie!

Did you notice we bought a bib way too early? Well, LZdaddy likes that and he can't resist getting that for his little boy and what does it says? "I've got a No.1 Daddy!".

Over the weekend, decided to meet up with godparents to shop for Beanie since I have the Mothercare birthday month discount card. L was excited to help me choose, she has my gene (love to shop). Hehehe.... I think I didn't buy much though... Will have to get necessity stuffs for him instead of shopping blindly. I love shopping for baby! There's so many things I would like to buy!

It is fun shopping with my best friend now when she has a baby too and our babies age is close. When I look at the way they handle Chyene, I know I will be doing the same in a few months time. After dinner, LZdaddy was relaxing and reading papers and I told godma, "Ya, now can relax and read. When Beanie is born see if he can do what he's doing now." Hahaha....

Competitive Training - Swimming

My girl started her competitive swim training today! Before today, I have been asking her if she was sure she wants to join in as I know the training could be quite tough. She told me she really wants to join the training. Perhaps she would like to be her cousin, Roydon gorgor who is doing it too and she had seen the older ones during the training. Anyway, since now is school holiday, it is a good time for her try out to see if she can cope with the training. When school reopens, we will reschedule her weekly lesson.

After having her weekly hour swim with their coach, she took a 15 minutes break (have her snacks). Uncle Joseph (who is her weekly coach as well as her competitive swim coach) got the things she needs for the training. It is not cheap man! $66 for all these (in pic). She was excited and nervous.

Initially, I thought she might not be able to concentrate as she is a very active girl and she might be playful when she joins in. I was soooo wrong! My sis praised her for being able to focus even after after an hour of weekly lesson and able to do as she was instructed. Uncle Joseph told her before the training starts that she will stops if she feels very tired but to my surprise, she did the full training. At times, the coach asked her to swim half lap instead and checked on her too.

So what was Z doing during that 2 hours? He played with his tamagotchi, gameboy and had his early dinner. I packed a bento for him and I forgot to take a pic of it. Once awhile, he kaypoh and see how jiejie's doing at the pool.

On our way home, I asked her if she likes to join in again. She excitedly told me she enjoys it though tiring and she would love to go for training again.
