Beanie Has Arrived! :D

If you have noticed, I have changed my pregnancy ticker! YES! Beanie has ARRIVED! He was born on 25th Feb, weighing 3.585kg! He decided to come out at 40weeks. Quick! Go buy 4D! Hahaha....

I don't think I would go into details of my labor for now as I am busy being a cow! Hehehe... Still trying to settle into my breastfeeding routine. The lactation consultant suspect that Beanie has been sucking his thumb or finger while in my tummy, hence he has problem latching on... I am not giving up!

I will update more when I have the time.

Their Love For....

ME! Meant to post this much earlier but mommy is sooooo lazy! They did these (play dough) for me during December school holiday (19th Dec 2008)... That how lazy I am! Better post it before I have too many backdated posts and I think I will be giving birth soon!

When Z gave this to me, he said "Mommy I give you all my LOVE!"

In the box: Sliced strawberries, strawberry flavoured (bear shaped) chocolate, corn in bear shaped container, blueberries, bear shaped face rice, quail egg (as the ears) and prawn tempura.

A bear bento for L! Last night, I melted some strawberry flavoured chocolates into the mould which I bought months ago. It was a hit with LZ!

Beanie @ 39 Weeks

Thank you all for leaving messages! It is so sweet of you all! My due date is 26th Feb and I am still around (I kept thinking my due date was 24th Feb).... Everyday I am wondering when is Beanie coming out. I have more frequent of the fake contractions.... Seems like my doc is right. My babies all due around 39+ to 40+ weeks.

My checkup was brought forward a day coz I don't want LZ to miss another of their swimming lessons again. This would probably be my last checkup before delivery. This week, I gained back the weight that I lost last week. Must be the char siew paus that I had this morning. LZdaddy was relieved to know that I put on weight again.

Yesterday I didn't have a good night sleep at all..... Beanie was not moving much yesterday and I was worried. Usually after talking to him, he will move or kick to let me he is ok but not so yesterday. While waiting for my turn, I talked to Beanie and told him to move more to let me he is ok so that I do not have to do another CTG scan and he did that! I told doc that I was concerned that Beanie wasn't moving much yesterday... She said baby is just like us, also have mood swing wor.... She said if it is only for half or a day, it is fine. Since this morning, he has been moving alot and now he is as active as before!

Doc checked and mentioned something like once my placenta has no more 'food' for Beanie means that he is ready to come out. She also checked on the water level and it was lower than last week. She said I am ready for his arrival and it could be anytime. Doc gave us an option to 'open' up my vagina to simulate labor today if I find that the last week is too tough for me but LZdaddy and I decided to let Beanie make the decision himself. We felt that he should have the right to decide himself when he is ready. I have carried him for 39 weeks so what is another week to me? His jiejie & gorgor also decide for themselves when they want to come out, so must be fair lor... And I still want to enjoy having him inside me.

Updates On L

My princess decided to have a 3rd tooth extracted at the school dental clinic! She told me a week ago that her tooth was shaky and the new tooth was growing out. Nowadays, I don't have to worry so much about her since she can make her own decision when to go to the clinic (she made the appt without telling me too!). For the record, her teeth is free from decay and gum disease. Yeah! This means that L has been taking good care of her teeth!

LZdaddy was the one who picked her up and she gave me a surprise with her toothless grin when she came home. This is something that she pick up from LZdaddy, giving surprises! Hahaha..... She is already in P2 and this is only her 3rd time that her teeth was pulled out. A little slow isn't it? But I heard the later the better.

It was a tough to make the decision.... But we have to stop her competitive swim training. LZdaddy wants me to stop her training permanently but I quietly told the coach that I stop it for 3 months (otherwise I will have to re-register her again if we decide to continue). See the white patches on her face? It is spreading... We suspect it was due too much swimming but that will have to be confirm by the doc. Some said that because when she perspires, she never dry her face and she wet her face with water. She often clean her face coz I give her a hanky when she goes to school.

She was reluctant to stop too but she was also upset over the patches. We explained to her why and she seems ok with it. Hopefully the doc can explains why and we will decide again... Meantime, it will be a good break for her since she will be having her mid year exams in 2 or 3 months time and Beanie will be born soon. Besides, now she is thinking of joining the school Chinese Dance Club!

Bento #121

This morning woke up feeling very refreshed! The thought of preparing bento and not having to wash the stuffs after preparation is great! Oh Michelle.... Now I understand what you mean when you said I will enjoy having a helper around.

If you are going to NTUC, do grab the blueberries, they are sooooo sweet! It is on offer, 2 packs for $4+. We have been eating lots of strawberries as well coz it was on offer and it is very sweet too.

My helper was wondering what I was doing while I was trying to carve out the egg white from the quail eggs. I think she was more excited than my girl upon seeing the face. LZdaddy seemed very pleased with the bento too, he saw the bento cover was a little dirty and hurriedly clean it before I took pic of it. And my girl, of coz also very happy lah. This bento consist of all her favourites.

Saw this pic that L took of herself in LZdaddy's hp and couldn't resist posting it here. She looked so different in this pic and doesn't look like a 7 yr old at all.... My kids are growing up so fast, way too fast.... I wish I can slow down the time... To let me enjoy more with them before they don't need me anymore...

Pumpkin Rice Recipe

Some of you were asking for the Pumpkin Rice (Bento #117) recipe which I just learned to cook from the TV programme. I can't exactly remember the amt needed for each ingredient but here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
- dried prawns (soaked)
- minced garlic
- sliced pork
- sliced mushroom
- diced pumpkin (I used Japanese pumpkin which I find it nicer)

Methods:
- wash and get ready rice with water in rice cooker
- fried garlic & dried prawns
- add pork & mushroom
- add seasoning
- pour over rice (in rice cooker) and on the switch.

Once it is ready, mix and serve.

*I added light soya sauce and pepper while frying the pork. You can also marinate the pork before frying. It is up to you what seasoning you want to add to suit your liking coz I forgot what was the seasonings. Hehehe.... I used only light soya and taste alright and I also adjust the taste as I was frying it. The next time, I'm gonna try using chicken.

This is a very easy one dish meal and hope you will like it as much as LZfamily.

Bento #120

In the box: Pooh face chicken pies, pretzels, sliced strawberries & grapes.

I baked the chicken pies last night and pretty happy with the outcome. It was rather plain on top and I was wondering what I could do with the leftover pastry. Then decided to put a Pooh face on top of the pies and was surprised it turned out well. I also used other cutters (HK etc)... I let L choose which pie she liked for her bento and she chose these.

The rest I left it in the freezer so that when I am in the hospital, the helper can heat up for her to bring to school but I doubt it can last that long. Last night, LZdaddy already took 3 pieces of it, he took some for breakfast, the kids and I (& helper) had some for snacks this afternoon.

While I was putting everything into the box, L suggested that I arranged it this way. She said it looks like a face. Aiyo... My girl is more creative than me!

Beanie @ 38+ Weeks & Gathering

Hi Angeline, I'm still around! I think Beanie is too comfy inside me to come out yet and probably he is such a good boy to let mommy enjoy eating yummy food.. Hahaha.... Went for my checkup this morning and what a way to start Valentine's day!

Happy Valentine's Day to All!

L has been telling her friends and their mommies that I will be delivering on V day. No wonder I have mommies coming up to tell me "All the best" & "Wishing you a smooth delivery" yesterday. Hehehe... She said that coz she remembered last week checkup, doc mentioned that Beanie may be a V day baby. Sorry to disappoint you Sweetie... Your didi decided that he doesn't want to be a V day baby. I think it is better, imagine next time when he grows up, he will be torn between celebrating his bday with us and his girlfriend. Hahaha... Z, on the other hand, believes that didi will be out only on the 24th Feb.

Now back to the checkup.... I lost 500g this week. I have never lost weight (towards the end) for my past 2 pregnancies so I was kind of worried. I mentioned to Doc that my feet was swollen few days ago (now it is ok) and she said it is due to water retention which I remembered it happened in my previous pregnancies. Doc explained that it is either baby is distress or I lost weight due to the water retention(after). I sure hope it is the latter.

What I need to do now till I'm due is to observe the movements of Beanie. If in a day (once morning, afternoon & evening, an hour each) I can feel Beanie's movements 10 times or more, he is fine. If not, I will have to go back to the clinic for CTG (Cardiotocography) scan.

Doc said most likely she will see me again for the next check up (since my kids are born at 39+wk & 40+wk) and I hope so too. I hope he will be born on a weekend so I don't have to worry too much for LZ.

LZdaddy is worried, you should see the way he asked the doc for assurance.... He kept telling me after the checkup that I must eat more and rest more, especially now that we have a helper. But I can't help it that I want to take care of their daily needs, I have been doing that since they were born. Besides, if I don't go fetch them from school and send them for enrichment classes, who is going to do it?

I have been talking alot to Beanie ... Telling him that he can stay inside me as long as he wants. Sometimes, when I was thinking to myself why he is not moving at that time, Beanie seems to read my mind and he moves a little just to let me know he is ok. I think I have been 'playing' with his little feet too, he kept pushing it at one corner of my tummy. The feeling is so good... And yes! I have finally get ready my hospital bag and have washed all his clothing!

After marketing, we rushed home coz some of our friends came over to our house. Yup! We have gatherings 3 weekends in a row! It seems like we worried we may not have as much time to chat the next time we meet coz I will be the first to deliver soon... Hahaha....

I played mahjong! Think this will probably be the last time I play it before I pop!
