Family Gathering

After sending L to the Expo, we went to my in-law's place. Nephew Zhao, bro-in-law and daddy had a great time with Z at the pool. I was glad that while L was enjoying herself, Z had a good time too. At that time, I was wondering if L was enjoying the show, is she alright, did she missed me, when will the show ends blah blah blah...

After the swim, Z had fun with Zhao playing soccer at Ah Ma's little garden. I was so worried that he will break any of the pots. My mother-in-law only hobby was these plants. She loves planting and I love looking at her plants. I am always looking forward to it coz you will never know what she can plant! Today I found out she was able to grow water apple! It's common to find lime or pandan leaves but water apple? I asked her if she had try it and she said she did but it was sour. Hopefully the next time it will be sweet :) I intend to buy some flower seeds for her and let LZ help her with it.

Finally my hp beep! My girl will be coming bk! When she came back, she didn't say anything abt the show as she has promised mommy not to. We had to go the bathroom to talk abt it! Funny right? Mommy & sweetie having a small talk in the bathroom.

SpongeBob - L

It was a difficult decision for me.... You see, My girlfriend has only 1 SpongeBob Musical free ticket for me. Both L & Z love it and I can't decide who to go for the show.... Finally I decided to let L go for the show as she is more independent, my girlfriend had to take care of her 2 kids as well and I was worried that Z might look for me halfway through the show. I'm sorry my boy.... The next time if they come and if you are still interested in SpongeBob, mommy will get a ticket for you ok?

We sent them to Expo and during the journey there, I was so worried that anyone of them would mention it to Z. Thank goodness they didn't! L kept her promise :) When they alighted, Z asked where was jiejie and I had to tell lie that jiejie went for a course and I was glad that he didn't probe further.

I was very proud of my girl! My girlfriend was full of praise for L :) She said that L was very independent, she doesn't need Auntie's help when she went to the toilet. When my gf's 3 yr old son was fighting with his sister for the SpongeBob soft toy, L offered hers (I asked my gf to buy one for LZ) to stop them from fighting. She helped Auntie to look after Adam. A BIG kiss & hug to you my girl!

She told me that she enjoyed the show and she had a great time dancing with Ayesha!

Last week Z told teacher that he would like to do SpongeBob this week. I was surprised that Teacher T remembered! This is the 1st time Z requested to do something that he wanted.

Breakfast

This morning, daddy and L got up at 7ish and decided to go for breakfast. That was very sweet of daddy. When Z and me woke up at 8, we decided to join them too. We had MacDonald B/F and it was great that all of us got up so early for it!

He Can't Wait

Z has been talking abt Shrek 3....

Z : Mommy! Mommy! "Strek 3! Strek 3"!
Me : Huh? What's that?
Z : The show! Come and see!

Oh! That was what he was talking about! We have been wondering what was he talking about till he pointed to me the TV advertisment.

When we were out on Saturday, Z said he wanted to watch the movie and we kept telling him that the movie are not in the cinema yet. He was mad with us, thinking that we don't want to bring him for the show. I told him the movie will be in the cinema in June.
Z : Now is June!
Me : No, it is still May. Another week we will go for the show.
Z : NO! Now is June! We go to the cinema after this ok?

Sometimes I find my boy very stubborn... It took some time to convince him that and with jiejie's help. We bought part 1 & 2 for them to watch and to stop him nagging at us :)

As I am writing this, Z came to me. He saw the pic and says "strek 3! Strek 3!"

School Holidays Begin.....

I kept thinking that school holiday will start next week till last Friday teacher was telling L to enjoy her school holiday. I was wondering why Teacher so kiasu, saying it 1 week ahead of the holiday. How blur I am! When we arrived at Z's nursery, teacher said the same thing again. Then I realised that Friday was the last day!

I had enrolled them in the 2 days church holiday camp and a doughnut making class. Then on Sunday, I enrolled them in a speech & drama class (3days) and a lollipop making class for L. Hmmm... I think that should make them happy. I wanted to enrol them in a chinese speech & drama class but my friend reminded me that they still have their other on going classes too. Yup! That should be enough then....

I am happy that they are having a break now coz it means that I can take a break too... No more walking in the sun everyday for the month and I don't have to rush to prepare their brunch before going to school.

Magic Eyes

Whenever L do something behind my back, she is always very amazed that how come mommy knows.

L : Mommy, how come you know?
Me : Well, whatever you do, I know....
L : But sometimes you are in the room and I am outside. How did you know?
Me : Mommy has magic eyes! I can see things, especially when you are doing something naughty.
L : Wow! Mommy has magic eyes! You are so powerful!
Then she tells daddy and didi...

Sometimes when she is doing something funny
I will say : Sweetie! Don't do that!
L replies : Mommy, are you using your special power again?
Me : Yes... That's why you can't tell lies. Mommy will know.
L : Didi, mommy using her magic eyes again!

Hahaha..... Whenever I think of her saying this, I can't stop laughing. She is so adorable! So, do I have magic eyes? NO! Truth is, we have many glass panels in our house. I always look at the reflections and I know what they are doing and sometimes with the help of the mirror too. I know one these days she will finds out but in the meantime, I enjoy being a mommy with magic eyes!

Saturday

After Z's appointment with the Doc, we went to Court @ Tampines and Ikea. It was our 1st time to Court @ Tampines and it was quiet. There wasn't any crowd and to think that today is Saturday.

I was impressed that they have a kids area where the children can play computer games and watch TV but daddy was not keen to leave LZ there and that made L grouchy. "Why daddy don't want us to go there? It looks fun! " I explained to her daddy would like to walk around with us since we are not looking for anything in particular. I told her perhaps next time we will let her enjoy herself there.

We had our lunch at Court... Z had the 'giant' satay (yummy! Esp the sauce) and L had the fish & chips (yummy too!). DH and me shared the chicken curry which was we would never order it again. The choices are limited and we waited a long time for the satay.

After lunch, we went over to Ikea, LZ wanted to go to the play area but daddy said 'no' again.... Never mind, we can do it other times when daddy not with us. Hehehe....

Looks cool ya! DH bought this last week and it I can''t help it but laugh! I was laughing because it was gold in colour! He said better be safe than sorry later.... Well, he is right! Do I know how to use it? I do :) We have placed it in the kitchen where I think it should be..

Hand Over

I have been taking of their Terro since December and LZ have been helping me once in awhile to wash his container and feed him. Today I decided that they should take full responsibility of Terro ( we don't know whether Terro is a male or female and I decided that it should be a male).

They were very happy as usual when I asked them to bring Terro to the toilet. I told them I will not do anything at all and they should take over. Both were so excited!
L : "Really? Mommy, you mean we do everything on our own?"
Me : Yes. Jiejie you will be in charge of washing the container and didi you will be in charge of washing the pebbles. Please make sure that everything are cleaned before you put Terro back inside.
Think it works better when I use the words IN CHARGE. Hehehe...
Z : Hurray! I wash the pebbles!
L : Yeah! I wash the container!

In the toilet, jiejie turned on the tap and Z took Terro and the pebbles out of the container. Then L started washing the container and Z wanted to help jiejie.

L : No, didi, you wash the pebbles remember?

Z : OK jiejie. I wash the pebbles then I help you ok?

L : ok

After washing the pebbles, didi went to helped jiejie. What was I doing? I was standing outside the toilet looking at them and doing nothing! This is great! Honestly, they did a good job. Well done my babies! And without me telling them, they fed Terro after putting him back in the living room ( I usually feed it after washing the container).

Me : How many pieces did you feed Terro?

L : I give 1 and didi give 1.

Me : Good job babies! Mommy very happy that both of you can take care of Terro.
L: Mommy, when do I need to wash him again?
She can't wait for the next wash.... I told her every alternate day they will have to wash it and to feed him once everyday. Hope this enthusiasm will last....

It's a TIGER!

So cute right? Teacher T taught him how to draw a tiger first. After practicing, he drew on a fresh piece of paper and painted it all by himself! He was very proud of it when he show it to me :) This was his artwork for this week.

Tag - 7 Random Things About Myself

7 Random Things About Myself, thanks to Healthy Freak Mommy for giving me another tag :) Hmmmm...... What should I write?

1. Í am addicted to shopping! I used to shop for myself when I am single. When I am married, I shopped for DH and the house. Now that I have kids, I shop for them! Toys, clothes etc... DH nags at me for not buying clothes for myself and I always complain I don't have nice clothes to wear! Truth is, I rather shop for LZ!
2. I love CHOCOLATES, especially dark ones!
3. My favourite programmes are CSI or any crimes programmes. Not that I am going to commit any, I like to try to solve it.
4. I love Japanese food and think I influenced my kids and hubby too!
5. I don't own an EZ link card but my girl has one (por por takes bus with her). I can't remember when was the last time I took a bus or MRT. That's very bad! I have never take a bus/MRT with LZ alone and I wished I know how then I can take bus/MRT with LZ. Most of the time, we walk, take a ride from my friends or drive the car.
6. I like to cook but hate to wash!
7. Last but not least, I can't live without my DH and LZ! I love them!

Do I keep Their Drawings?

Last week, Huisia asked if I keep L's drawings. I do keep LZ's artwork. I thought it would be nice to share with mommies how I keep their artwork.
If it is a craft piece, I keep all in their boxes (I bought it from Ikea)and if they are still intact after playing. For their drawings, I bought the A3 size files to keep them.

Progress Report - Z

Looking at Z's progress report, I'm so proud of his progress too! He has shown great interest in his work. He is able to relate to me what happen in class and even pass message to me! Below is what his teacher has wrote abt him:

Z is a pleasant and friendly boy. He has improved steadily and is showing interest and enthusiasm for the things he does in class. Keep it up.

Baby, mommy is very proud of what you have achieved so far. Whenever you have completed a reading book, you can't wait to read to me. :)

Progress Report - L

Last Friday, My LZ brought back their mid year progress reports. What can I say? :) I am very happy with their progress! Below are what the Principal wrote abt my girl. She is L's teacher as well (she has 2 English teacher in the class)

L is an expressive and lovable child. She is an active participant in classroom activities. A bright girl who speaks well and constantly offering her opinions. L has made tremendous improvement and I am very proud of her.

Sweetie, u did very well. Mommy is very proud of you for making such a great effort to improve. Ms B told me that u are very polite & helpful in class and well liked by others.

Sometimes, I wonder who are fans too :-? I know most of the mommies from my blogging list are my fans (thick skin la, hehehe.... ), especially Jan, Huisia, Kelly and Fannie are some of the mommies that frequently visit my blog. Thank you all Mommies :) It is great to know so many wonderful mommies thru blogging (though I have never met anyone) and I learned alot from all of you. >:D<

Besides my eldest sister-in-law who read the blog, I know some of nieces and nephew read my blog too. 3 of them are bloggers too... But only 1 leave comment. So you guys know what to do? Don't sms me, leave comments! Hahaha.... My cousins read the blog too.

For the rest of the family members, not many know that I have set up a blog. As you can see from the previous paragraph, only the younger ones know.

Belated Mother's Day Celebration

I was busy in the afternoon preparing the cupcakes as we will be celebrating Mother's Day with my mom-in-law. Thinking that we will be doing it at home, I baked the cupcakes. My dear hubby didn't tell me that there was a change of plan and we are eating out. So shy to bring my cupcakes out.... Ladies, I will post the cupcake recipes as soon as I have the time :)

We had dinner at Boon Tong Kee at Boon Keng Rd. I never know that they serve others dishes besides chicken rice. Our family are BIG! We need 3 tables to accomodate us. We are very blessed, especially LZ, they are loved by many.... Uncles, aunties and cousins all surround them when we arrived. They had lots of fun with their cousins especially Jeng, Zhao, Pin & Ling....

What happen to her tongue? She ate the blue cupcakes! She went around showing everyone her blue tongue. Hahaha....

She Cried

Few days ago we were packing away the toys that they don't want. I was disappointed that she gave away the toys that her bro bought for her when he was born. This was what happen.....

We were in the playroom and they were doing their homework and that was when I realised the toy are no longer there.

Me : Sweetie, where is the Pooh Bear train set?

L : Oh! I gave it to daddy. I don't want that anymore.

Me : What? Do you remember who gave you that present?

L : ...........

Me : It was your didi who bought that for you when he was born! How could you give that away? You know, it was his 1st present for you. Even if you don't want it, you shouldn't give it away. The present is very special....


Her eyes was red and she bend her head even lower while writing. After awhile

L : I remembered now that the present was from didi.... Do you think daddy can take back the present for me? ( she was looking at her bro then at me)

Me : Haiz... I don't think so...

She started crying softly and was still doing her homework.

I think I was too harsh with her and expect too much from her.... I have to remind myself that after all, she is only 5 yrs old... It hurt to know that she gave the toy away and to see her crying..... I gave her a big hug and told her what is done cannot be undone....

I'm sorry Sweetie.... Mommy expect too much from you and sometimes it slipped my mind that you are only 5. Many a times, I have been treating you like an adult.... I shouldn't expect you to read my mind. I love you.... Pls forgive mommy...

L came towards me and gave me a big hug. That was what I needed.... Then started crying with me.

Then she went to daddy (probably she knew no one can make me upset except daddy)

L : Daddy, why you don't love mommy as much as before? You cannot treat mommy like that!

Daddy : .....( I don't know what he said)


She nagged at him and asked him to love me more! Hahaha.... That's my sweet sweet girl! Immediately I started laughing! Having her is such a joy! She definitely brighten my mood :)

A Dot

Z told daddy few days ago...

Z : Daddy, Singapore is a dot only!

Daddy : Who told you that?

Z : Ms B (their principal). Singapore is a small dot only. She has pretty flowers, tall trees and buses and..... (the list goes on)

Daddy and me are impressed that he knew Singapore was a small country and you can only see a small dot :) and that the principal are teaching them things like that. Most important is that he pays attention during assembly. The way my children are progressing, we are very sure that we have made the right choice to switch them to this school.

Field trip

My goodness, I haven't been waking very early for quite a long time! At 7am! We had to be in school before 0830hr and I had to get ready for 3. Daddy was very fortunate, he only have to get himself ready.

L was going to the fish farm and Z and me will be going to the zoo. Both were looking forward to the trips as it has been more than 6 months since they went for a field trip and it was their 1st field trip with the new school. L was counting down when is the day and Z everyday told me "mommy, tomorrow we go to the zoo" and I had to remind him it was Wednesday that we will be going.

While I was getting ready, L was "reporting" the time to me. Momm"y! It's 7.40am!" , "it's 8.05am now!" , "mommy! Can you hurry up pleaseeeee?" and finally "mommy it's 8.22am already!" . Oh dear! We are sooooo late! We sent L to her school first and her teacher was waiting outside the gate. I looked at the time, 8.27am... Not bad, we are in time :) Did we fly there? No... We set our clocks at home at least 10 mins faster! Hehehe.... And of coz I must also mention that it was daddy who sent us to school.

Z and me had a good time at the zoo and we managed to watch 3 shows, polar bear show, animal show and the elephant show. Not too bad... Btw, Inuka (1st polar bear that was born in the tropical climate) is still in Singapore and if I'm not wrong, he is staying for good :) We took the tram ride too. Think the teachers have not been to the zoo for a long time, I had to tell them they have changed the tram station. Z fell asleep on the way back in the bus and I dozed off too.

L brought a camera along for her trip. I would like to see the place that she has visited and to find out how responsible she is (with the camera). It was daddy's old camera, with films one.... She told me she took pics of her teachers and friends and fishes too! I can't wait see the pics that she has taken :) She did lokang fishing and brought home 2 fishes. She also told me that her friend accidentally pushed her into the pond and her shoes are soaked! Haiz...

By the time we got home, I was very tired but not my kids. I wished I have as much energy...

Z At Home

Yesterday Z did not go to school... The reason written here(private)...

After sending jiejie to school, we went to the Doc and thereafter we went to do marketing. He saw the cake and he couldn't resist it and asked for one. "Mommy, let's have a cake here and a drink too!" Seeing that he is better, I said ok.

We had a chocolate cake and an ice-lemon tea. Did he finish the cake? No... He ate the top layer which was filled with choc cream and he ate the lemon slice from the ice-lemon tea! It was very sour but he loves it!

10 Things I Hate Abt My Hubby - Tag

I was tagged by KarenYiau to name 10 things I hate abt my hubby. Oh dear! This is soooo tough! Like what Karen has said, if I hate him, I wouldn't be with him till now :) I would rather say what I don't like abt him and try to complete this!

1. After having his meal, he will not wash the dishes till I nag him to. (sometimes he does take the initiative)
2. Whenever we go out, he depends on me to remember where we parked our car!
3. He always ask LZ & me to clear/throw away our stuffs (things that we don't want) when he has lots to clear. (truth is, we have more things than him!)
4. He loves good food, and every time I cook I get stress up coz I don't know if he will like it or what comments he will give. (most of time he says it's good, probably worry that I will be angry or perhaps he is telling the truth. Hehehe)
5. He seldom spend time teaching the kids. When I ask him to, he always says he is tired la, later & blah blah... (errr... when he comes home, they would have finish their homework)
6. Sometimes he uses "naughty" (stupid) words regardless whether the kids around or not. (he is trying to change)
7. He used to be a VERY romantic guy, always full of surprises but time has changed him... I still get my surprises but not as much (I'm so greedy)
8. He has been saying that he wants to workout or shed some weight but yet to start/continue. He still have some diet pills somewhere in the house (But I like him chubby).
9. He likes to talk to me when I am watching my fav programme. I have to remind him many times and yet he still do it! (Well,he misses me the whole day and he can't wait to talk to me :D)
10. He is too stingy with himself! He needs new working clothes but he doesn't want to spend on himself. Then complains he doesn't have enough work attire. I will tell him to go get more clothes whenever we go shopping but he will says later or no need or next time when we are shopping without the kids la.... . That made me looks like a nagger and whatever I want to buy, he says "go ahead".

Note for DH: My dear hubby, if you happen to read this, don't just read and forget! Do something about it! Hahaha...

Gameboy

Everytime we go out, I will have their handheld gameboys with me. Life has been easier for me now that they have the games :) I have set rules for them and so far, they do follow it.

• They can't play while walking
• NO playing in the house
• NO playing while eating
• They can't lie down to play their games
• When they misbehave, I will take away their gameboy.
• When told to turn it off, they will have to

They don't play for hours, half hour is the max.... Some people I know don't agree with me giving them this. Personally, I think it is ok if they follow the rules and they are not obsessed with it.

My Dad Turned 70!

I can't believe it! My Dad turned 70 yrs old yesterday! We celebrated Dad's birthday & Mother's day together, a dinner with our family and my beloved Auntie's family. Some people were missing from the dinner... My dear cousin, cousin-in-law and my little nephew. They are in Italy and I can't wait to see them especially little Justin in September!

Dinner was great! LZ had fun playing with my Sis, my Cousins and nephew. Everyone was teasing them including my Uncle & Auntie. My parents were smiling throughout the dinner. I can't believe how much my nephew has grown! He will probably be as tall as me by end of this year and he is only 10 yrs old. My youngest cousin, Nic is getting more and more handsome :) The other Cousin, Sam and Jac are expecting their firstborn and we will get to see their baby in October. How I wish we can get together more often.....

Spiderman 3, Here We Come!

LZ's godparents planned to bring L out for a movie but when I found out that they wanted to watch Spiderman 3, we tagged along. Hehehe... It was Z's favourite character and we had planned to bring them for the movie. They watched part 1 & 2 and they love it.

I wanted to surprise them till we reached the cinema, but I can't contained the excitement as I knew both were looking forward to watching it.

LZ was considered quite well behaved and they sat throughout the show without even going to the toilet (the show was 2hr 20mins)! By the time the show ends, it was passed their sleeping time. L fell asleep on the way home and Z was still awake, playing his gameboy in the car. :)

The cupcakes that I made this afternoon, thought they looked pretty and post it here. I made it for my dear friend to try, which I promised her some mini cupcakes. I was glad that they liked it :) Are you telling the truth? I'm sure you are! Hehehe.....

I kept half of it for my LZ. L loves it and she said "mommy, they look so pretty! I want this, this , this..... ". Z loves the buttercream icing, he ate the icing then the cupcakes. I will probably let them try putting the icing next time ;), when I am in the mood the clean up the mess! Daddy prefers it without the icing and he ate some of it before I "dress" them up!

Personally I like the mini ones as you can just pop one into your mouth and it is not messy. But it was not easy to decorate it compare to the regular ones.

Beetle!

OMG! Another insect in our house again! It was a green beetle that appeared on our sofa last night and it is big! This time it was L who found it... They will be showing it to their friends in school!

L's Chinese Lesson Assessment

It was time for the mini concert again, after completing the designated syllabus. The assessment for her is the same as the last one. She has *A*s again :) Well Done Sweetie! I was so glad that this time daddy made it for the mini concert! Looking at the smile on his face, I knew he was very proud of our girl.

Cute Conversation On Mother's Day

When I picked LZ up after their art lesson yesterday,

L screamed : Ahhh.... U cannot see!
Me : See what?
They were holding hand-made flowers
L : It was supposed to be a surprise for you and you can only see it on Sunday She was giggling...
Me : But I saw it. How?
L : Then you pretend you didn't see it ok? Otherwise there will no surprise for you.
Me : Ok then.... I pretend I saw the paintings only...

When we reached home, they quickly hide the flowers and the cards. It makes me feel so good..

At home

Z : Mommy, you are a princess! We going to buy present for you for Mother's Day.
Me a princess again... Hehehe....
Me : Ohhh... That is so sweet! So what are you going to buy for me?
Z : I am going to buy flowers, a ring and a cake for you. He was very excited
Me : But, baby... You need money to buy a ring. Do you have money?
Z : Daddy has money! I ask daddy for money to buy for you. He sure think very fast :)
Me : Hahaha.... No need to buy any thing for me, baby.... You and jiejie be good and mommy will be very happy.

It was so thoughtful of them to think of all these for me and I appreciate it. They are very excited that Mother's Day is coming.... We will be celebrating my Dad's birthday cum Mother's day on that day :) I thank God for giving me 2 beautiful and thoughtful kids. I love you both very much! Having both of you are the greatest gifts!

According to the teacher, L is doing great for the past 2 lessons. She was very excited to bring home this fairy painting. She was taught how to draw the fairy first, then she did the painting.

One of my favourite food : Hainanese Chicken Rice
Singapore Hainanese chicken rice, originated from Hainan China. You can find it anywhere, foodcourt, hawker center, restaurants etc... Some places served it with rice balls instead of rice on plates.

I am a Hainanese and I have been eating it since I was a child and I can have it everyday. My dad cooked it on all occasions and I love to eat it with his special chilli sauce.

Emergency Preparedness Day

After attending the Twins (Ying & Hui) birthday party, We joined in the fun that was organised by our council...

We saw how the Civil Defence did during a mock terrorist attack, how they did a chemical wash, play games etc... LZ may be too young to understand it, but I find it very interesting to know how can we play a part if such a thing happen and I learned CPR. You may never know what will happen the next day so it is better to be ready than sorry later.



LZ enjoyed the puzzle games very much and the bouncers too. Besides giving out lots of goodies, we have many bottles of the Newater too. It was very sweet of our neighbour to give us the vouchers and goodies, like I said before, my neighbours like LZ alot... If not for them, I don't think I will be talking so much to our neighbours or attend any of these events. :)

Goodbye To Our Washing Machine

What rotten luck we had! I usually wash our clothes on Friday or Saturday but my washing machine "Died"... We had to leave LZ with my parents and we rushed to get one... They were unable to deliver it the next day :( They will be delivering it on Tuesday evening! X( That means I have to hand wash all their clothes.

When was the last time I had to hand wash so many clothes? Haiz.... When Z was 1 yr old, I hand washed their baby clothes till they are 1 yr old ...

LZ Love Noodles

They love noodles, whether it's cold or hot... Whenever we go to a Japanese restaurant, it is a must for us to order cold noodles. When we are at home, I will cook cold noodles for them and with lots of spring onions too.

A Princess?

Z : Mommy, you are a princess!

Z : Come and see.... ( He lead me to our room where he saw our wedding picture frame, and it sitting on the floor) See? Mommy so pretty like a princess.

Me : Thank you baby! You are so sweet... Giving him a big hug and kiss

Bird Park

We planned to go to the park earlier but it was raining there (we called the park to find out). We waiting another hour and finally the rain has stopped and off we go! As usual, we had a wonderful time and we saw ostrick eggs(see pic)!

I love this pic of them holding hands! L took care of didi while they were going up the stairs. I see them holding hands everyday and it never fails to make me happy knowing that they both love each other and L has been a wonderful jiejie.
